This website is operated by Ethon James under the professional brand Crypten Technologies (“Crypten”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

Where Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, 2020 applies, Ethon James is the data controller for personal data processed through this website and website enquiries.

When you contact us through the website or by email, we may process:

• your name and email address;
• your organisation, if provided;
• the service or type of help you are interested in;
• the contents of your enquiry;
• correspondence created while discussing a possible engagement; and
• limited technical and security information associated with operating and protecting the website.

The website does not currently provide user accounts, online payments, newsletter signup, advertising tracking, analytics, a chatbot or a CRM-based public intake system. The initial enquiry flow does not create a CRM entry or durable production lead database.

Please do not send passwords, private keys, identification documents, payment-card details, health information, confidential customer records or other sensitive material through the general enquiry form or ordinary email unless we have agreed a suitable secure method.

We may use personal data to:

• receive and respond to enquiries;
• understand your business needs;
• take steps you request before entering into a contract;
• manage professional correspondence;
• operate, secure and troubleshoot the website;
• prevent abuse and security threats; and
• comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.

The lawful basis depends on the circumstances and may include steps requested before entering a contract, consent where appropriate, compliance with a legal obligation, or a lawful legitimate interest.

We use service providers to operate, secure and support the website and enquiry process. These currently include providers for website hosting, anti-abuse protection, workflow processing and email delivery, including Vercel, Cloudflare, Hostinger, Resend and Google.

Some of these providers may process or store information in the United States or other locations outside Jamaica. Where Jamaica’s Data Protection Act applies, we use service providers subject to applicable legal requirements and appropriate privacy, security and contractual safeguards.

We do not sell personal data.

Ordinary prospective-client enquiries that do not become an engagement are retained for up to 12 months after the last substantive communication, then deleted or anonymised unless a longer period is reasonably required for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, fraud-prevention or security purposes.

If an enquiry becomes a client matter, related records are handled under the applicable client or contract retention requirements.

The website is designed without advertising or marketing tracking.

Essential hosting, security and anti-abuse technologies may use cookies, local storage or similar mechanisms where necessary to operate and protect the website.

The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated abuse.

Subject to Jamaica’s Data Protection Act and applicable exceptions, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including rights to request access or correction, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is relied upon, and raise a complaint with Jamaica’s Office of the Information Commissioner.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information we process and the risks involved. However, no website, internet transmission or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
